Hi there, I’m Liv
I’m wife to my best friend and mom to our senior (but lively) Squishy Pug. I’m also a daughter and a sister, and I’m an aunt to 6 adorable nieces and nephews. I’m a blogger, homemaker, budgeter, rainy day fan, and chocoholic. I’m completely imperfect but I know I’m forgiven, all because of the love and grace of my Lord Jesus.
My mission here at Liv By Grace is to encourage, inspire, and equip women for spiritual and financial victory.
I started Liv By Grace because I quit my job in the summer of 2017 for ethical reasons, and I wanted to finally have a chance to live out my dream of being a homemaker. I needed to adopt a much more frugal and productive lifestyle super quick so that I could make ends meet on just over $15,000 a year.
Having never had any financial rules in place to limit spending, I felt overwhelmed and a little scared when I suddenly found myself needing to implement a strict budget. I felt a sense of pressure and panic when I realized we would have bills to pay and groceries to buy with an income that had just plummeted by nearly 60%. And since I was no longer working outside the home, I felt a little lost and unsure of my identity.
It’s been nearly a year since that dramatic change happened, and guess what? I’ve learned that living a frugal, productive, and grace-filled lifestyle really is possible! What started out as a seemingly unachievable dream is now my reality.
My husband and I (and that Squishy Pug) are successfully living on one income of just over $15,000 a year. Debt-free.
I’ve gone from overwhelmed to productive by implementing simple, actionable steps to identify my priorities and change my habits. I buckled down and developed savings and cost-cutting strategies along with budgeting solutions that allow us to live debt-free.
And through my journey of quitting my job when I thought we couldn’t afford to, I’ve learned that money itself does not take care of me, God takes care of me, and He is faithful to provide.
His grace combined with intentional, frugal living is the only way that I’m able to live a life of spiritual and financial victory. I’ve learned to embrace the fact that progress > perfection, and accepting this has completely freed me to be more productive and to live by grace. I’m excited to share how you can use these solutions to transform your life too!
If this is your first time here, I’d love to share a bit more about myself so you can get to know me. You can find my story of how I beat anorexia here, or read about how I managed to keep my joy through the heartbreak of losing my precious mom to cancer 5 years ago. And if you’d like to read about how I came to know Jesus personally, you can find that here. But enough about me, let’s get on to more of what Liv By Grace is about and what you can expect to find here!
