“Christians celebrating Halloween?! Controversy!” Just kidding! That’s not what this is about AT ALL.
Think about this: each year on October 31, children and parents come right up and knock on your door seeking a gift.
Now consider this: what better gift can we give them than to share the life-saving gospel?
There is nothing better! π
What better opportunity do we have as believers to share the good news than people coming right up to our doors? Take the opportunity to give generous treats and share the gospel, every day, including Oct. 31. Remember, each day belongs to the Lord God, and what is meant for evil, He will redeem. π
Don’t be tempted to cower in the dark, hiding from little trick-or-treaters. Stock up on candy, be generous in handing out snacks, and pair them with a gospel tract!
Because here’s the truth: to answer the door and share the good news is not the same as participating in Halloween.
It’s the exact oppositeβit’s lovingly sharing the gospel.
Here’s everything you need to get started sharing the good news with trick-or-treaters and their parents who come to your door on Halloween!
π Get stocked up on gospel tracts!
Are You a Good Person? gospel tracts, set of 30 (affiliate link)
This is the tract I usually hand out to trick-or-treaters. It’s perfect for kids and a wonderful tool for sharing the gospel with people of all ages!
It walks you through examples of how we all are guilty of sin and breaking God’s moral law, The Ten Commandments, and that we’ll all stand guilty on Judgment Day. It makes it clear that our only hope of forgiveness and salvation from hell to eternal life in heaven is through Jesus Christ because of the price He paid on the cross for our sins.
Halloween Million Dollar Bill gospel tracts, set of 50 (affiliate link)
This one is perfect for kids and has awesome graphic appeal! It’s great for adults and teens on Halloween, but it’s not as appealing year-round, so you’ll have to wait until next Halloween to use them again. It clearly presents the reality of sin and the hope of salvation found in Christ. (If you want to appeal to all ages, the “Are you a good person?” tract above is suitable for younger kids up through adults.)
Million Dollar Gospel of John, single copy (affiliate link)
Yes, this is the complete book of the gospel of John! It’s packaged in such an attractive and fun way, and there’s a note at the beginning explaining why: the cover resembles a stack of million-dollar bills because the word of God offers everlasting life which is far more precious than any amount of money.
I gave out copies of these last Halloween inside little baggies full of treats and the trick-or-treaters loved them! A few of the little kids were accompanied by their parents and the parents loved them too!
Million Dollar Gospels of John: The Vault, 100 copies (affiliate link)
If you like the idea of passing out the word of God instead of (or in addition to!) a gospel tract, this neat box comes full of 100 copies of the gospel of John! And if you happen to have some copies left at the end of the night, you can pass them out to neighbors or friends, leave them in waiting rooms or at the library… They’re an amazing outreach tool year-round!

Wanna do fruit-flavored candy instead? This bag is big enough for a good amount of trick-or-treaters. It’s also perfect for mixing and matching chocolate and fruit candy!
